Research in Learning Technology - Print ISSN 2156-7069; Online ISSN: 2156-7077 - is a peer-reviewed Open Access journal which aims to raise the profile of research in learning technology, encouraging research that informs good practice and contributes to the development of policy. The current editors are Frances Bell, University of Salford, UK and Rhona Sharpe, Oxford Brookes University, UK. Research in Learning Technology is published as an Open Access journal four times per year by the Association for Learning Technology in partnership with Co-Action Publishing.

History

The Journal of the Association for Learning Technology was first published, under the name ALT-J, by the University of Wales Press in July 1993. From January 2004 until December 2011 it was published by the Taylor & Francis Group. The journal changed its name from ALT-J - Research in Learning Technology to Research in Learning Technology - The Journal of the Association for Learning Technology in January 2011. It increased its publication frequency from three times per year to four in January 2012. Past editors have been Gabriel Jacobs, David Squires, Gráinne Conole, Martin Oliver and Jane Seale.
